4 Summer Sports and Activities Women Should Try This Year

With summer fast approaching, you may be starting to think about activities and plans. Summer vacations are always popular, but what about other activities that you can do regularly? Here’s a list of four summer sports and activities that women should try this year. Each one gives you an excuse to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather while taking part in an activity that delivers fun and health benefits.

Tennis

If you want to be outdoors and active during the summer, tennis is a fabulous sport to take up. What’s great about tennis is that you don’t need much in terms of equipment and gear. You’ll need a tennis racket, some balls, some good quality women’s workout clothes, and some tennis court shoes.

For those just starting, it’s usually a good idea to book a few lessons so you can pick up the basics and ensure you’re using the correct form. Lessons and plenty of practice will help you to excel in the sport.

Golf

How about a sport that takes you through summer, fall, and spring? The only season that you can’t play this sport is in winter – however, depending on where you live in the United States, there may be courses open in the winter. Golf is easily one of the most favorite sports out there and with so many women’s leagues cross-country, now is the time to get involved.

Golf can be a bit of an investment when you first start, as there is a lot of equipment such as different golf bags and clothing to purchase, and it’s not usually cheap. If you’re on a tight budget, look for second-hand clubs. As a beginner, these will be good enough until you save up for a high-quality set.

Paddleboarding

Those who live near water can take part in one of the hottest water activities – paddleboarding. While this is technically an activity where you will be exerting yourself, it’s also relaxing at the same time. It’s just you and the paddleboard out on the water, enjoying the peace and the beauty that surrounds you. You’ll need to practice patience as you learn this sport, as excellent balance will be required.

If you don’t want to spend a lot on the sport since you don’t know if you’ll like it, try investing in an inflatable paddleboard, which is typically less than half the price but just as fun and effective.

Hiking

It doesn’t matter where you live in the country, chances are pretty high that you have hiking trails located nearby. They don’t have to be rugged off-road trails taking you through mountain landscapes, even something simple like a walking or biking trail through a park is great. You need very little gear to engage in hiking, there are no classes or lessons necessary, and you’ll find trails that match any skill level. Hiking is a great activity with friends and family or on your own.

Embrace the Summer Sports

So, why not let 2022 be the year you embrace summer sports and give each of these a try. You may just find a new favorite activity.
